About The Text Box

The Text Box is a free collection of online text and developer tools — word counters, case converters, formatters, generators and more. Every tool does its work entirely in your browser: the text you paste never leaves your device, because there is no server doing the work. What you see in the address bar is all there is.

Why we built it

Most online tools ask you to paste sensitive text into a form that gets sent to someone else's server — or bury the useful features behind accounts and ads. We wanted the opposite: tools that are fast, honest about what they do, and respectful of your data. That's why the whole site is one static app — the tools literally cannot phone home with your text.

What it costs

Nothing. No accounts, no premium tiers, no watermarks. The site is financed by unobtrusive, privacy-respecting usage analytics (see our privacy policy) so we know which tools to build next.

Who builds it

The Text Box is a small independent project, built and maintained by one developer with help from AI tooling. If you spot a bug or want a tool we don't have yet, that feedback genuinely shapes the roadmap — the most-requested tools get built first.
